We'll begin with the base or root chakra
Rest comfortably with your eyes closed
Allow your awareness to move into the first chakra
At the base of your spine
The Sanskrit word for this energy center is Muladhara
Which means foundation or root
As you bring your attention into this area, visualize the color red
This chakra relates to your core survival needs
For food, water and safety
It is the energy center closet to the earth
And when open, supports your sense of being grounded and connected
It is associated with the sense of smell
Breathe in the color of deep red
Bringing the vital life force into every cell of your body
Make peace with uncertainty
Trusting that mother earth is supporting you
The opening of this chakra brings confidence
In your ability to fulfil your deepest needs and desires
Associated with your spine, adrenal glands, kidneys and lower digestive tract
Clarity in this energy center
Ensures good health in these core supportive structures
The sound of this base chakra is Lam, Lam, Lam
Relax, breathe in, and silently repeat the mantra, Lam
