In My Mind

The lyrics present a simple, hopeful idea: our inner lives—our thoughts, dreams, and capacity to love—are a shared human starting point. The repeated lines create a feeling of insistence and unity. Rather than telling a story with changing events, the song returns to the same uplifting thought, as if inviting listeners to hold on to it.

“In my mind, in my head” points to the inner world of thought and imagination. Saying “this is where we all came from” may suggest that shared hopes and feelings connect people, though the lyrics do not explain exactly what “this” means. “The dreams we have, the love we share” names those common experiences, while “what we’re waiting for” implies that a better or more meaningful future is still ahead.

The message can be heard as spiritual, emotional, or simply encouraging. “Where we all came from” might refer to a common source, or it may be a poetic way of saying that people are united by what they imagine and feel. The lyrics leave this open rather than giving a specific answer. Their repetition makes the idea feel more like a shared affirmation than a detailed argument.
