Lyrics
A shadow fell on Egypt's land
Chains on backs, blood on sand
The cries of mothers in the night
As hope was drowned and out of sight
But from the sorrow, soft and low
A mother whispered, You must go
She weaved a cradle strong and true
An ark of love to carry through
Down the Nile with no goodbyes
A baby floats beneath the skies
Tears above, but grace below
In darkest tides, a light will grow
Drift, baby, drift, on the river divine
Carried by faith through the edges of time
The storm may rage, the world may fall
But Heaven hears the weakest call
Moses, your name will break the chain
From cradle to crown, through fire and flame
Soldiers stormed with rage and sword
But midwives feared a higher Lord
And in the reeds, a silent vow
That justice waits, though none know how
The princess reached with tender grace
A royal heart in a brutal place
Two mothers, one sacred plan
To raise a child who'd lead a land
Born between two worlds, unknown
Raised in palace but not his own
Chosen from the rush and foam
To one day bring the people home
Drift, baby, drift, on the river divine
Carried by faith through the edges of time
The storm may rage, the world may fall
But Heaven hears the weakest call
Moses, your name will break the chain
From cradle to crown, through fire and flame
And though the water swallows cries
A destiny will still arise
Every tear that touched the stream
Now fuels the fire of God's great dream
Drift, baby, drift, on the river divine
Carried by faith through the edges of time
No crown or sword could ever tame
The purpose burning in your name
Moses, arise, let the captives sing
A child once lost will free the king
