A new bar across town, thought we'd check it out
Just me and the boys for a few cool spots
But your best friend was bartending
And I couldn't help but think about you and me and all we had
So, I had a couple and I closed my tab
And slipped out and headed home
Then that song came on about, lost my mind
'Cause you swore it was about you
Then we got to that old red blinking light
And I knew I was gonna go then
But I almost went right instead
I almost left my truck in the road
Ran up the stairs, girl, I almost yelled out your name to open the door
I almost saw our clothes on the floor and almost led you into the room
And almost spent all night with you
The crazy thing is, you never really know but I was so close, yeah, baby I almost
I can't help but wonder what you would've done if you had seen my face just cry
And said no, you gotta go
And I still need my space
Or would you have taken my hand and given us another chance?
'Cause I almost left my truck in the road
Ran up the stairs, girl, I almost yelled out your name to open the door
I almost saw our clothes on the floor and almost led you into the room
And almost spent all night with you
Crazy thing is, you never really know but I was so close
Yeah, baby I almost

Could've been the song, could've been the whiskey
Could've been just me wishing you'd missed me
And I almost left my truck in the road
Ran up the stairs, girl, I almost yelled out your name to open the door
And I almost saw our clothes hit the floor and I almost led you into the room
And I almost spent all night with you
Crazy thing is, you never even know
And the crazy thing is, you never really know
But I was so close, yeah, baby I almost
Yeah, baby I almost
Yeah, baby I almost
