Lyrics
Somewhere deep in the heart of the forest
Lived a deer so deeply in love
But the doe he was after
Was a great deal faster
Than he could ever hope to run
When he was younger
He stayed with his mother
Dreamt of the day when he'd run like his pa
With a thick, handsome mane
And a gruff alma mater
And antlers that grew strong and tall
Like the trees that reach to the sky
Our brave little buck has fallen in love
And he don't know why
When he was full-grown
He left his mother's side
That's when the beautiful doe caught his eye
She was slim, and small
With eyes like the springtime
And his heart he could not deny
Like the trees that reach to the sky
Our brave little buck has fallen in love
And he don't know why
So, he chased her down
With his boney crown
He sang her a lullaby
Gave her a bow
He poofed up his chest
But still, she said
"You're a brave little buck
But I'm just not impressed."
