Lyrics

Sometimes I like to wonder what my ancestors would make of me And mutual disgust is what comes to mind But why do the thoughts of dead men matter to those that are still living Maybe it's because we all have our time I don't like to look back at who I was when I was younger Cuz I like to believe he's dead and gone Some nights I wish in my mind that I could just purge the memory it's delusional to think I'd be better off It's an anachronistic self-righteous conflagration An attempt to destroy the fool I used to be But is there really any benefit to hating him When he really isn't that different from me Sometimes I start to think how I will look back at this time Did I really do enough to earn the right Will I think of myself now as I think of me way back then Will I use the same judgemental guiding light Sometimes I think in hindsight I will always feel the fool And I start to think that everybody should If you don't have a few regrets can you even say that you're living? Cuz I really don't think anybody could But an anachronistic self-righteous conflagration Means I think I'll always hate who I used to be But if I ever get the wisdom to show that mercy Maybe then I'll finally feel like I am me
