Lyrics
Their Guns attacked the shoreline
The bombers overhead
They went past the Texas
Full of fear and dread
June nineteen forty four
To Omaha beach
The Fox Green landing zone
Their destiny to reach
Left behind in Cornwall
An obscure footnote in time
That lasted just five minutes
Recorded as a crime
June nineteen forty four
To Omaha beach
The Fox Green landing zone
Their destiny to reach
Another group of soldiers
Sent back to the USA
Had tried to fight for freedom
Like their comrades of D Day
Court-martialed in Devon
Sent back to the USA
Left behind in Cornwall
An obscure footnote in time
That lasted just five minutes
Recorded as a crime
June nineteen forty four
To Omaha beach
The Fox Green landing zone
Their destiny to reach
